up when people run these scam alerts and all this bullshit about the
towing

i work for a towing company and we tow from are (our) local mcdonalds
which is accompanied buy shops and restauraunts and id say over 50
people a day illegaly park on this parking lot maybe we catch 12 of
them... yes its lucrative but is it wrong hell no mcdonalds has the
right to police there parking lot and idiots who know nothing about the
towing buisness sitting at there desk thinking there all knowing cant
do shit about it, you can put out your little alerts but the truth of
the matter is people are to dumb to just pay the 5 bucks to park and
read the signs and so they get caught then they think there gonna sue
or change the law cause they got caught...
u cant tell a buisness owner he cant regulate his parking lot when he
pays the bills not you not the goverment not any of you white collar
idiots who think u know it all...
i know u dont deal with are (our) city but we have regualur people who
think there blogs and websites and compaints make a difference instead
of crying how about u dont park there when u know u shouldnt dont blaim
the tow guy for towing you and if u ever come to my city i will tow
your car on mcdonalds lot and charge you whateve i feel like to get it
back just so you can have something to feel important about
Signed Bandit.
Here is Troubleshooter Judd McIlvains response.
In California there are laws about how much you can charge for a tow
from a private lot and there are laws about how much time you can be
parked on the lot before the merchant can have you towed.
Also in California a tow truck driver must have a signed statement of
permission from the vehicle owner to tow a vehicle on a city street.

Two drivers were arrested and jailed in Hollywood for this violation.
By the way, neither of the tow truck drivers had driver's licenses, so
they could not legally even drive their own truck.
I exposed them on both radio and TV. I believe that if you cannot
follow the law then get out of the business.
As for not being able to do anything about it, note my article
about how the tow operators who violated the laws were punished by
making them clean up trash along thefreeways. They looked so cute in
their orange jail outfits.

There is a big difference between the SCAM Tows and the Legal ones.
Every owner of a private lot has the right to have vehicles towed off
his lot, but he and the tow companies must follow the law.

I am surprised you do not know about these laws that apply to your
industry. Perhaps your town needs to take another look at the laws
that protect consumers from Scam Tow Drivers.
