Third World Muslim Women

I have heard many thoughtful Americans ask, why do third World Muslim Countries have economic problems and never seem to progress? One of the main answers is the way they treat half of their countries' population. When a Muslim Country puts heavy restrictions on all women they are removing half of the population from be productive in their economy and progress of the country.

Examples: When women are not permitted to go to school, drive a car, vote, hold office, and cannot go out in public without a male escort from her family, then how can you expect these women to contribute to a prosperous society when there are so many "man- made" restrictions. Also when a man can beat or stone a woman for what he thinks is not proper dress, you are not going to have a lot of aggressive businesswoman in the society contributing to the total economic growth of the country. These strict Muslim regulations and customs on half of the countries population keep many countries in the Third World category. I think these restrictions would quickly change if they were also applied to the other half of the countries population, the men.
